Periodontics is the part of dentistry that deals with the care of diseased gums. Gingivitis or gingival inflammation is the most common manifestation of gingival involvement. Its progression leads to the appearance of periodontitis. This pathology, commonly called pyorrhea, involves the loss of the bone that supports the tooth, its mobility, gingival retraction and finally the removal of the piece.
